MediciTV was selected to be an official media coverage provider of XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition that took place in Moscow and Saint Petersburg in July 2019. MediciTV’s team was looking for a flexible and cost effective playout solution that would allow it to create a “pop-up” 24-hour linear channel for the competition. Medici.TV needed to have an efficient platform that would support working with multiple live sources from the competition as well as adding pre-recorded content from the archives. Ability to record live streams on the fly and later offer them as part of VOD library and simple and intuitive user interface that would allow a very small team to run the channel were the other important requirements. MediciTV subscribed for two months using AWS and 3QSDN in conjunction with Veset Nimbus. A small team was able to self-manage the challenging task of operating the 24/7 linear channel with multiple live classical music performance inputs with high bitrate AAC audio compression from the competition venues in Moscow and St.Petersburg.
